Who is Khush?

You might be wondering — who is this guy? What’s his story, and what makes him tick? Well, you’re in the right place.

What follows is a glimpse into my journey so far: the moments that shaped me, the people who inspired me, and the passions that keep me moving forward. It’s honest, it’s real, and it’s just the beginning.

Welcome to my story.

I didn’t grow up loud. I wasn’t the kid who took up space in a room. I was quieter — thoughtful, observant — raised in a traditional home where things weren’t always spoken, but you felt them anyway. There were rules in the air, responsibilities between the lines, and dreams I tucked away in the back pocket of my heart, waiting for the right moment.

Dogs were always around me. Loyal, expressive in their own silent way, they were family before I even knew what that meant. I’ve always believed that animals, especially dogs and now my cat too, have personalities that only a few people truly notice. You don’t just own them, you understand them. And in understanding them, you learn to understand people too. Care, for me, started there. With creatures who couldn't speak but still said everything.

Growing up, I was the type to wander with a camera in hand. I fell in love with photography not for the pictures, but for the pauses. The still moments that most people overlook. Music filled the rest of the spaces, old songs, raw lyrics, the kind that feel like they know you. I’ve always been drawn to the in-betweens, reading, exploring, travelling not just to places but into people, into conversations, into quiet rebellions that shaped who I am.

My career in healthcare began as a paramedic. It was intense, sharp, fast, but what lingered with me were the slower moments, after the rush. The deep breaths. The gentle touches. The part where people needed someone to stay. That’s when I realised my strength wasn’t in just saving lives, it was in being there, in the ordinary seconds when care becomes real.

So I shifted paths and followed that instinct into nursing. I’m now in the final semester of my Bachelor of Nursing — learning more every day, growing deeper into this role that feels like home. I’ve worked in disability care, mental health, aged care, and personal wellness. That’s why I started Vitalsbykhush — not as a business, but as a reflection of what I believe in: individualised support that feels human, not clinical. Real people, real care.

And somewhere in between all of this, I have someone who changed how I see the world. There’s a kind of presence that doesn’t have to speak loudly to be felt. It exists in the way someone walks into a room and makes the air feel lighter. In how they look at you, not just with their eyes, but with a knowing, like they already understand the parts of you you’re still figuring out. She reminded me that real strength isn’t in what you say, it’s in what you stay quiet about. That being kind, even when the world hasn’t been kind to you, is a kind of courage not everyone has. That showing up with your whole heart — even when it’s been bruised, is the most fearless thing a person can do. She taught me that care doesn’t always look like grand gestures. Sometimes it’s a shared silence. A gentle nudge when you’re slipping. A moment of laughter when you need it most.

She might never call herself a role model, but she’s one of the biggest reasons I am who I am today.
And whether she sees herself here or not — I hope she knows.

For everyone else, this is just me: someone who’s been shaped by moments, not milestones. Someone who chooses care, not out of obligation, but because it’s how I make sense of the world. Whether I’m helping an elderly person feel safe at home, guiding someone through emotional recovery, or just walking beside them in silence, I do it with sincerity, because I mean it.

There are still parts of me that are quiet. But they’re no longer hidden. They’re intentional.

This is my story. A little colourful. A little grayscale. Still unfolding — but always written with care.
